Lots of new Asian imports, lingering South-Americans, and new fish alert!
Hey folks,
now that football season is officially over the weekends will be fully busy for selling fish which helps out all of us. Lots of fun stuff to talk about this week including some brand new items (or at least new to us). But first if you're not already please check out all of our social media pages/posts and be sure to like and subscribe. And speaking of social media AquaShella Orlando is one month away where we will be displaying a bunch of goodies from right here off the farm so please be sure to stop by and say hi. If you've never been I would highly recommend attending. They put on a great show and it's the first one back in Florida in nearly two years. Lots of representation from all aspects of the industry/hobby.
Now onto the fish. First and foremost is an item everyone here is super excited about, Tricolor Gold Barbs. This is as far as I know a very new aquarium strain of the classic Gold Barb. Words don't describe it so fortunately I have a pretty decent pic of them down below. Another new(ish) item are the Blue Pinoy Angels. Now while these aren't new to the trade we haven't had this exact strain before. As the name would suggest they get a blue hue to them as they get older with reduced striping. These are incredibly popular amongst hobbyists. And while the next item on the list is definitely not new it is also extremely popular, Uaru. These are far east tank raised fish and so far look perfect in every way. The only thing wrong with them is that they are very limited so act quickly if you want some. And if we're talking about popular as well as limited availability then we have to mention the Chili Oscars. Always a fan favorite.
Far east imports brought us some common items that have been in short supply lately starting with everyone's favorite micro Gourami, Sparkling. Haven't had these in months so they are sure to go almost immediately. Now while we have had Choprai Danios on and off the past few months this is for sure a batch you want to take notice of. These are some of if not the nicest I have ever seen. So bright you can see these little beauties from across the room. And speaking of bright, well maybe not yet but soon to be, we got in Redline Rasboras for the first time in ages. I included an archive photo which I don't normally like doing but I wanted everyone to see what these look like once they've settled in a bit. And in addition to those we also got restocked on Kubotai, Galaxy and Harlequin Rasboras.
For Colombia we still have some absolute gems available. First and foremost are the large Blue Phantom Plecos. Now that they've had some time to settle in they truly are blue. Also showing off how spectacular they are the Colombian Zebra and Snowball Plecos are about as nice as they get. And rounding out the suckermouth category we still have some adorable Royal Plecos on hand. For something on the bigger side we might have 1 or 2 Blue arowanas available but that's all she wrote on those. Medium Silver Arowanas however still have pretty decent numbers on them and they're even on special this week. And speaking of being on special we even have some great looking Gulper Cats ready to gobble up anything you try putting with them. And last but not least we still have some medium Black Ghost Knives available. These are about twice the size of the far east raised ones and well worth the extra money.
I swear no matter how many we bring in we can never have enough in the of invertebrates. But at the very least we certainly have a good variety to choose from this week. For Shrimp we have some very nice, bright Red Rilis Pinnochios are in for the first time in over a year. Bamboo are just as creepy as ever. And Blue Diamonds look to have pretty good numbers on them. For crabs we got in more Vampires who by the way got featured on one of our socials this week so you should definitely go check that out. Red Crabs got another restock. And everyone's favorite pet rock, the Hermit Crab, are back in this week.

| Wild Black Ghost knives are about twice the size of the far east imports. I've seen bigger but not often. |

| Uaru are in for the first time in forever. These came in at a "medium" size but anyine whio knows this fish understands that's still farily small. Not because they stay small, which they don't, but because they are slow growers and no one wants to sit on them for very long. These are far east tank raised so unlike wild collected specimens they will acclimate very quickly and will already accept dry foods. Although if oyu want them to look their best definitely throw some frozen their way. |

| It's chilly outside and now it's Chili inside, Oscar that is. Ok, even I have to admit that was a bad play on words. But you get the point. Chili Oscars are back. |

| Sparkling Gouramis are back! But probably not for very long as it has been ages since we've had these and they are by far the best selling pygmy Gourami in the world. |

| No joke this might be the nicest batch of Choprai aka Glowlight Danios I have ever seen. And I don't just mean through here I mean ever. If I didn't know better I would swear they were juiced they're that bright. |

| Galaxay Rasboras, world's #1 nano fish, are back but in very limited numbers this week so don't delay on your order. |

| "Neon Green" is a much more marketable name than Kubotai Rasbora. But then again with the internet and social media what do I know. All I know is that these brighten up once they settle in and fly out of here every time we get them. |

| Just a heads up, if you order Rasbora Hets this week there is a possibility you get Lamb Chops instead since that's what the vendor sent in their place. These technically should cost more since we usually pay more for them so if you do get these consider yourself fortunate. Plus it's a really neat fish we can't get every single week. |

| I put a pic in the next slide of what Redline Rasboras look like once they've had time to settle in. Here on our bare bottom tanks they never show their truly remarkable color. I guarantee that's the only reason they don't sell out the day we get them. |

| Been getting striped Kuhli Loaches with a bit more frequency lately. Not sure how long that will last so don't sleep on these. Not sure why but as far as I can tell these aren't in box stores and of they are it isn't very often as I have yet to see them offered there. In my humble opinion these are far superior to the more commonly available black varaint. |

| Used to be the most common Goby we would get were the Bumble Bees but for the past year that has given way to the Rainbows and for good reason. I mean just look at them. FYI this isn't a download pic, this was taken here in a 5 gallon tank we have in our sales office. |

| Yup, here we are again. But as I've mentioned before every time we get Dwarf Puffers I'm gonna feature them in the newsletter. Rather people get bombarded with them as opposed to not realizing we have them in stock. |

| In addition to the Dwarf we also got in Spotted Puffers this week. But unlike the Dwarf Puffers these guys are brackish and do require some salt in order to truly thrive. |

| Finally managed to snag some Trifasciatus Pencils this week. These are far east tank raised and are holding up great but no color yet which is why I put in this pic of one that is well esablished. They will look like this once they've settled in and aren't over plain glass as they are here. |

| Far East Raised Blues are probably still one of the nicest Tetras here at the farm. Color is super bright and they are about as hardy as it gets. |

| Green Fire Tetras are also back this week after a brief hiatus. These are rather uncommon still in the industry and one you won't typically see in box stores so it's a good offering for your customers. |

| Glass Bloodfins got a restock this week. Nice thing about these is that they don't really overlap with regular Bloodfins in that they have a unique appearance that's all their own with a translucent body, redtail and a green hue throughout. |

| Black Emperors came in a bit bigger than usual Big enough to the point where their purple hue is really starting to come through. |

| Mixed sex Congo Tetras are till the better choice over the all males as ironically the males in this group are considerably larger and when I was in retail people always wanted females. Guessing they had delusions of striking it rich breeding these at home lol. |

| Blue Pinoy Angels are here for what could be the first time ever. Certainly for the first time since I've been here. We've had the greens within the past year but not the blues. These are Indo raised and look amazing already even at a small size. People are always on the lookout for color morphs other than the commonly offered Florida raised variants. |

| Redfin Tinfoil Barbs are back in stock this week. One thing you always to be sure tell your customers is how big these fancy "Carp" get lol. |

| Brilliant Rasboras are running about as big and as bright as they get this week. |

| I've said this before but I typically don't like featuring any one type of Guppy as they always seem to run out immediately but this week it looks like we have pretty good numbers on the Red Cobras. |

| Green Lantern Platies really stand out this week. Which is pretty impressive when you think about the fact that compared to most other varieties they're the darkest colored. |

| Parkinsoni are just one of the brightly colored Rainbows in the all male mix this week. |

| Medium Albino Bushynose are running around 2-2.5" making them far more impressive than the regulars and a bit more economical then the large. |

| Got in more of the Longfin Green Dragon Bushynose last night. If you missed my speech last time here it is again...there are a couple different strains that go by this name, this is the version we have. |

| So while I often feature these guys under the "Asia" section these can really go in a number of sections including community but this week I'm putting the in with the South American Cichlids since that's where they originate from. So why am I featuring the Fire Red Agassizii for the third week in a row? Because they're awesome, that's why. That and the fact that for the first time since I've been here we've managed to get them multiple weeks in a row. You're welcome. |

| Curviceps are back and while they running a bit on the small side what they lack in size they more than make up for in color. Nice bright coppery gold throughout. |

| For whatever reason we somehow manage to keep getting large (approx. 4") Elecrtic Blue Acaras. Don't get me wrong, they're selling out the day we get them but our local vendor has been able to keep up with the demand so far. |

| Regular Heckelii are running over size and could almost pass for mediums. Great iridescence on these. |

| Rainbow Severums are right around medium size with outstanding color. |

| Got in an unexpected handful of large Blue Dolphin Moorii last night. Doubt there's enough to go aorund but what there is has great size and color. One of the best value haps in the hobby. |

| Large Redfin Borleyi are mostly over 4" and are all male. |

| We can never have a medium Peacock mix without some great looking OBs in the assortment. |
|

| Assorted large Haps are averaging around 3.5-4" which makes sense since this week they look to be mostly Victorian like this Nyererei x Obliquendens cross. |

| Got Pseudotropheus Msobo in at a large size for what could be the first time. Or least for the first time in so long that we had to make a new number for it. Either way they are outstanding and one of if not the nicest looking African Cichlid on the farm this week. This is a male in the pic but there are females in the mix as well which are bright yellow. Arguably the coolest Mbuna there is. |

| But if you're looking for something smaller we also have the Msobo in a regular size as well this week. Like most Mbuna they start off with female coloration and the males change as they mature. You can already see a couple of the males starting to transform in the pic. |
