Great specials, new cichlids, and lots of amazing Asian imports
Hey folks,
Well as I often say full transparency this week, I am currently battling what the doctors are calling Flu-like symptoms (I'm calling it plague-like symptoms as I am currently knocking on death's door). Do with that being said I put all my effort into the captions below so this week's opening monologue gonna be brief. But before I get into this week's highlights I'd like to give a shout out to Liz and everyone who has been blowing up our social media. The videos have been super successful and we're excited to continue to put out new content every week. And if you're not following us already be sure to click on the button above.
As promised this is going to be brief but here are some of this week's must-haves. First and foremost are the Emperor Tetras. Before you say anything yes I know it isn't anything new or rare but these are outstanding. Big, bold and beautiful just don't quite cut it. But they are not the only standout as far as Tetras go this week, both the Bleeding Hearts and Splash can easily hold their own this week. We also got in a handful of far east raised Blue Tetras and while they're not huge are showing very bright color.
And speaking of far east raised fish we got in Geophagus Sveni "Rio Parana" for the first time in months. Arguably the coolest Geo being commercially bred. Indo also brought us another batch of Adolfoi Cories and if you haven't been following the emails lately we still have a handful of Reynoldsi Cories. Everybody needs both of these in their lives. They are awesome. For more run-of-the-mill staple items we got restocks on Dwarf Puffers, Clown Knives and Galaxy Rasboras.
But before I venture off into the great unknown there definitely some Florida raised Cichlids I must mention. First are the brownest of the brown but people of my generation will appreciate these, Port Cichlids. Haven't had these little bland beauties in over a year. But in all seriousness they look really good and are very nice at a "regular" size. Finally got some Firemouths in this week in medium and large. Still no regulars though. Large Venustus are absolute stunners. Medium assorted Haps have a killer mix to them this week. And my overall favorite Florida fish this week award goes to the Tomato Haps. Check out the pic below, they're awesome.

| We are now officially announcing the latest addition to the GloFish® line, Starfire Red® Gouramis! This might be the hottest fish in the line yet. Yes, they really look like this. We took this photo in our sales office without the use of any lens filters or enhancement. These are just that awesome! These will launch on May 3rd, so just around the corner. |
| Starfire Red® Angels are still shipping in good numbers. And don't be surprised if you get a couple the the patterned beauties in the mix. |
| Sunburst Orange® Pristella |
| Electric Green® Pristella |

| Silver Arowanas are in full swing as the season is fully upon us. |
| Been here a couple of weeks now and the Flash Plecos are absolutely stunning. Fully acclimated with near perfect fins and electric gold pinstriping. |
| Colombian Zebra Plecos are the best bang for the buck if you have customers that are looking for something showy but don't wanna break the bank. |
| Same as above goes for the Snowball Plecos. We have both sizes of them this week, country and western. Kudos to anyone who got that reference. |
| I keep showing the Yellow Spot Plecos for two reasons. One, it has a stupid name that makes zero sense. They are not yellow nor are their spots. Two, they are my favorite Pleco of all time. So every time we have them you're getting a pic of them. |
| At least the Yellow Edged Pleco has a name that makes a bit more sense, it does have yellow edges (barely). But nomenclature notwithstanding these are one of the coolest Plecos we've gotten in a while. Pics really don't do it justice. I do a double take every time I walk past their tank. |
| Red Belly Pacu |
| Got in two more Red Pikes this week giving us a total of four available including the two I brought to Global. If you or one of your customers is looking for a show piece then look no further. |
| If you're not familiar with Geophagus Sveni them Google a pic of an adult. After you do that I can guarantee you're going to want some of the juveniles we got in this week. FYI these guys start to show color at about 2" so won't have to wait long. |
| Green Scats are back. Definitely recommend keeping a significant amount of salt on these guys to keep them looking their best. |
| Dwarf Puffers. We have them. You need them. The end. |
| Chili Oscars have been coming in almost as often as regular Oscars since the demand ahs grown so much for these blazing beauties. |
| Leopard Ctenompoma actually sell better if you list them as Spotted African Leaf Fish. Worked wonders for me when I was in retail. Besides, who can properly pronounce that anyway. |
| Adolfoi Cories are back from Indo. The orange cap on these makes them one of the best looking of the "affordable" Cories. |
| Redfin Daisy Ricefish are back after popular demand. These look like miniature Dwarf Neon Rainbows. |
| The most popular of all nano fish (Galaxy Rasboras) got restocked this week. |
| Delhezi Bichirs continue to be the best selling species of the genus for a reason. Awesome saddle pattern coupled with an excellent price point makes them fly out the door every time. |
| Probably shouldn't even bother putting this guy in the email but we got in a couple of 12"+ Fire Eels this week that are sure to be gone as soon as Brody hits send on the email. |
| New Redtail Botias are about 30% bigger than the previous few batches. Fantastic for controlling nuisance snails in tanks with aggressive species i.e. African Cichlids. |
| 3" Clown Knives got another restock this week. P:robably one of the coolest large predatory species that can be maintained in a large home aquarium. |
| Borneo Suckers might just be one of the most stubborn species to get into a net. Pro tip: use a driver's license or credit card and gently slide them onto it then you can bag them without causing any damage. |
| These are probably THE nicest Emperor Tetras I have ever seen come through here. Ton of males showing full color. We rarely get them this big so stock up while you can, numbers are limited. |
| Bleeding Hearts are massive this week. Color is super bright as well. If you're not stocking these you are really missing out. |
| Hard to tell from the pic but the Longfin Blushing Tetras are absolute beasts this week. |
| Tank raised Blue Tetras from Indo came in late last week. These are considerably smaller than the ones we had from Peru a few weeks ago but they're also a bit cheaper. |
| Blind Cave Tetras may not be the most colorful species out there but they certainly are one of the most fascinating. |
| Ry to look past the water stains on the glass and you'll see just how awesome the Splash Tetras are. Tons of red in the fins and the body coloration is really starting to come through. |
| Kohaku Koi Swords are probably the biggest I have ever seen. And not just here but anywhere. Plus there's even a couple of males in the group. |
| Not quite as big as the Kohakus but still very nice this week are the Marigold Swords. Plus there a lot more males in this mix. |
| Tricolor Gold Barbs are starting to become a staple around here since they have been so incredibly popular after bringing them in for the first time in January. These are currently being raised out of Indo but will soon be an item produced here at the farm. |
| Well you can tell summer is approaching because all of the Rainbows are growing like weeds and this week's prime example are the Featherfins. Some huge males in the mix displaying full color. |
| Got in another batch of Tanganyikan Killies this week from one of our team members. This is a pic of one of his breeders. The ones we have for sale are about 1.5-2" and just starting to show color. These are pretty hard to come by and are highly sought after by collectors. |
| Port Cichlids are in for the first time in over a year. Closely related to Blue Acara these subtle beauties don't get the attention they deserve. Bit of an old school favorite much like Keyholes or Egyptian Mouthbrooders. |
| Curviceps are also back this week. Very nice gold hue over the body of another old school favorite. |
| Got A couple of bigger sizes on Firemouths this week including medium and large (pic is of one of the large). For whatever reason regulars have been scarce lately but we have these for you to offer you customers in the meantime. |
| Medium Carpintis are back after being on hiatus for several weeks. They are far more turquoise in appearance than this photo would have you believe. They darken when you take them out of the water and I wasn't in the mood to take fifty pics just to get one good one so trust me when I say these look fantastic when they're not being stubborn brats. |
| Got Jacks back this week in both medium and large sizes. |
| Rainbow Cichlids came in at a regular size this week so they are just on the cusp of showing why they are so deserving of that name. |
| Regular Green Severums are due in this afternoon. As much as I love all the different locality point and color variants we've been getting lately I have been missing just the good ole traditional "Green". |
| Got some fantastic looking OB Peacocks we used for our display at Global this year. These were hand picked by our vendor so you know can be sure these are show quality. There's a reason we feature a tank of these at every convention we attend. |
| Large Veunustus look to be all males and they're all awesome. Color can't be beat and these are definitely the most impressive fish on the farm this week. |
| Took this pic of a Tomato Hap right after they arrived. Obviously they will be showing a ton of red once settled but if this is what they look like when they're upset just imagine what they'll look like in a day or two. |
| Albino Comps are back and as I often say the pic just does not do them justice. In tank these guys are almost lemon yellow. Probably the coolest albino variant of any African Cichlid. |
| This pic is very representative of what you're most likely to get in this week's mix of medium assorted Haps. |
| Got Albino Tain Reefs in for the first time in ages. They just came in last night so for right now they are all just white. But after about a week or so you'll typically see a male or two starting to pop. |
| This is what the male Albino Taiwan Reefs look like once they're color starts to come in. We do NOT have any that look like this yet but at this size some of them will look like this shortly. Well worth the wait. |
| 2.5-3" Blue Ring |
| This is why these are called "Blue Ring" Discus. These are the parents of the ones that we have here. They are bred locally by one of our very own staff members! |
| 2.5-3" Red Turquoise |
| 2.5-3" Blue Diamond |
| Albeit a common stock item this week's Sterbai Cories are considerably larger than what we typically get in. |
| Got restock on the Super Red (such a deceiving name) Bushynose. These are one of if not the most popular color variant of tank raised Bushynose on the market so just like last time we had them they will probably be gone before I'm done typing this. |
| I usually put these in the "Asia Imports" section but since that segment was getting a bit fat (and these guys aren't technically from Asia) I decided to put the 3-4" Redtail Cats here. Not like they need much promoting. These future giants always sell out in a matter of days. |
| Got a handful of Oil Cats still available and they are holding up great. Super cool looking honeycomb pattern with yellow accents. |
