Peacock bass, Bloody Mary Borneo Suckers, and Arowana
Hey folks,
Can't remember we had this many great weeks in a row for incoming but here we are again with some fantastic new arrivals. We'll dive right in with Colombia. Had a shipment come in late last week as well as this week so there will be some overlap but that's certainly not a bad thing. Got Peacock in two different sizes and both look to be Temensis. Depending on what your market is like I would certainly recommend grabbing both since they have been in such short supply this year but if you can only go with one definitely grab the larger ones. Only been here a few hours and they are already showing great color and feeding on live food. Medium Silver Arowanas are hands down the biggest and nicest ones we've gotten all season. Significantly larger than all of the previous batches and super clean. Got restocks on Melini and Metae Cories, both at a great size. And if you missed last week's email we still have some very nice Skunk, Simulatus and Punctatus Cories as well as another restock on the ever popular Pygmy. No shortage on Characins as both Flagtail Prochs and Pinktail Chalceus got restocks and of you were ever in need of Silver Dollars or large Red Hooks then this is the week to stock up. New Pike Cichlids are Belly Crawler types and most have some very nice size to them. And since they came in late last week they missed the email but Ossa Knives came in huge once again.
As is often the case Asia came in huge this week. Just gonna start with the one item that will be sold out before I'm done typing this, Bloody Mary Borneo Suckers. Everything in this genus has been blowing up on social media for quite some time now and no matter which species/variant it is we just can't get enough. Trust me when I say if you're lucky enough to snag a couple you are not going to have them for very long. Next up will be the second fastest selling, and happens to be my favorite incoming item this week, Guentheri Kiilies. Super colorful, small, and typically pretty hardy. They're the total package. Just be sure to keep them separate or provide lots of cover for them as they are pretty rough on each other. Also sure to sell out due to both popularity as well as limited availability are the Avocado Puffers. If you haven't read the email in a while this is a true freshwater species that tends to be less aggressive than some of the more commonly available brackish species. Adult size it typically between 4-6". But if you're looking for something on the smaller side we got a nice assortment of nano fish this week including Blue Daisy Rice Fish, Scarlet Badis, Kubotai and Galaxy Rasboras.
What email would be complete without a rundown of some Florida raised beauties. First and foremost are the Peacock Gudgeons. For whatever reason these have been in short supply much of this year. Got in a pretty decent amount but given the length of their absence I don't expect them to be here for very long. It's always a struggle to pick out which Rainbow to highlight this time of year since pretty much all of them look so good right now. But this week's overall winner are the Neon Dwarf. Running huge with outstanding color. But in all fairness Kamakas, Reds and Albino Millenia all look fantastic as well. But if you're having a hard time trying to decide then go with the assorted. Really nice mix of different species in there. And sticking with the community these both the regular Pearl and Gold Gouramis are running at a nice size with good color and pattern. But if it's Angels you're looking for it's angels we got. Our local supplier has recently expanded their list so there are plenty to choose from. Highlights include Select High Coverage Koi, Medium Veils and Fancy mix large. And since we're talking about Florida raised specialties we have to give some shout outs to some Cichlids (and yes I know Angels are a Cichlid but they don't count lol). Regular Green Severums got a healthy restock and both size and color are pretty much text book. Cubans are in at both 3" and 4" sizes. Chocolates sold out so fast last time we have in at three different sizes this time around. Got a very limited number of super bright Fredrichstahli available. Even more limited than that are some great looking 3" Snook. Salvini are back on hand. And just a huge new batch of medium assorted Peacocks fresh out of ponds so they are about as bright as it gets. Reach out to your rep if you have any questions.

| Newest medium Silver Arowanas are much nicer sized than what we saw most of the summer. Definitely worth the money this week. |
| Larger size of Peacock bass loo fantastic and they've only been here a few hours! |
| Striped Peacock Bass look to be Temensis but can't be 100% sure at this size. We did order them as Temensis but the collectors' ID abilities at this size are not perfect. |
| Melini aka Bandit Cories got another restock this week. Goes without saying but in case you're not already this is a species that everyone should be stocking as a staple item. |
| Even thought they are another "Bandit" type of Cory like the Melini Metaes are another species that should be offered every time they're available. |
| Got another restock of Silver Hatchets this week so there should be plenty to go around. |
| Farlowellas are all over the map as far as size is concerned but the good news is most people don't seem to care and looks like we have a fair amount to go around this week. |
| Wild Bushynose are back in stock. These are a much better value than the tank raised ones that continue to come in super tiny. |
| Pinktail Chalceus are perfect for that difficult to fill semi-aggressive tank gap that many of your customers have. These work great for tanks with larger, territorial species as a dither fish. |
| Same goes for the Flagtail Prochs as the aforementioned Chalceus. |
| Not much ever needs to be said about "Belly Crawler" type Pike Cichlids. Given the price point these pretty much sell themselves. If you offer aggressive Central/Southies these should definitely be included in the mix. |
| Ossa Knives came in late last week and most are 8"+. One of the coolest looking fish you'll never see move around during the day lol. |
| Bloody Mary Borneo Suckers are back. Awesome selling fish with a perfect name for this time of year. But wouldn't matter what you call these since every time we've brought them in they've sold out in a day. |
| If you haven't read the email in the past few weeks then you've missed out on the Avocado Puffers, so here's a quick recap. This is a true freshwater species that tends to be less aggressive than some of the more commonly available brackish varieties i.e. Spotted, Figure Eight etc. These typically stay around 4-6" making them fairly manageable for most hobbyists and therefore an easy sell. Hence the reason we sell out of them almost immediately every time we get them in. |
| Another easy to sell item are the Adolfoi Cories. It's like someone took a "Bandit" Cory and gave it an orange cap. |
| New Barbatus Cories are bit bigger than the last few batches |
| This is more of PSA than a sales pitch. Galaxy Rasboras are in stock and in pretty decent numbers too. That's pretty much all you need to know about one of the best selling nano fish that everyone should be stocking. |
| This week's Red Paradise are an Import strain. These are more rust orange than rust red but still very nice and only get better with time. |
| Tricolor Gold Barbs are back! These look great and and truth be told these tend to hold up much better than the standard Golds. |
| Haven't had Scarlet Badis in a hot minute as the kids say. Actually I don't think they say that anymore. Just goes to show how old I am lol. But that not withstanding one of the best selling nano fish is back in stock and need to be on everyone's orders this week. |
| And speaking of nano fish Daisy Rice Fish are back for the first time in ages. We have been getting the Redfin and Platinums for quite some time but haven't seen the classic version in nearly a year. Already showing color and they've only been here a day. |
| Guentheri are without question not only the best value Kiilifish but as far as color goes one of the best values period. These never disappoint. Super bright but also super aggressive towards their own kind so either keep them separate or have plenty of cover for them. Cut-up PVC piped work well in a pinch. |
| New Gold Dojo are about as nice as they get. Perfect size and very, very bright. Wish they would have come in like this when I was in retail. All we ever got looked like albino Kuhli Loaches. |
| 2-2.5" Tiger Shovelnose make a triumphant return this week. Super cute for now but will be up and eating everything in sight very soon. |
| Peacock Gudgeons are back this week after a bit of an absence. The best selling freshwater "Goby" in the hobby when available. |
| Just like last week there really isn't a bad Guppy in the house so I just [picked one that stood out as I did a walk thru and this week it's the Blue Moscows. Pretty much any Guppy with "Moscow" in the name will sell. It has become a fan favorite over the years. |
| "New" Dumbow Balloon Mollies definitely live up to their name. And FYI we put out a video of these guys on our social media pages and they blew up overnight so people are gonna be on the lookout for these. |
| Even though summer is over you certainly wouldn't know it around here based on the temps as well as fish sizes. So this week's "still running big" feature are the Neon Dwarf Rainbows. Pic pretty much says the rest. |
| Regular Bosemani Rainbows practically showing adult coloration. Don't feature this size often but they are a great value this week. |
| Regular Pearl Gouramis are also running nice size this week. That can change quickly so order up while they are on the bigger side with great color. |
| Not quite as big as the Pearls but still very nice are the regular Gold Gouramis. Also very tiger stripey this week. |
| Hard to tell from the pic but the Blind Cave Tetras are about as big as they ever come in. Makes them all the creepier lookin lol. |
| One day I'll figure out a way to get a decent pic of the medium Veil Angels in tank so everyone can see just how amazing the finnage is on these guys, And as an added bonus they're still running big even for "mediums". |
| Select HC (high coverage) Koi Angels have a lot more orange coloration than the standard Koi as the same suggests. If you've been ordering the Select Koi lately you've probably gotten some of these in the mix since the supplier was running low on the standards. But those have gone back to normal so if you want more of that bright orange go with these, they all look like the one in the pic here. |

| Regular Green Severums are back in stock and some of the nicest ones we've had in a while. |
| Got some 3" Fredrichstahli aka Yellow Jacket Cichlids that look absolutely amazing. Bright gold with a ton of pattern showing. |
| Cubans are back at 3" and 4" (the latter is very limited) and both are already showing super high contrast. |
| Everyone's favorite brown fish, Chocolate Cichlids, are back this week in regular, medium and 4" sizes this week. |
| Geo Steindachneri aka Red Hump Geo are one of the more underrated Geos in the hobby. Even though they have been around for quite some time they still don't get the appreciation they deserve. |
| 3" Red Devils got a restock this afternoon. Nice mix of straight orange and pieds like this guy in the pic. |
| Salvini are back in at 3" and 4" sizes this week. Both have great color and are an easy sell. |
| This is a better pic of the 3" Green Bay snook we currently have in stock. This is not an archive photo but a pic of the actual fish we have here on the farm. But be forewarned these are very limited. |
| 3" Import Peacocks are new and therefore freshly juiced. And since they're new there's a lot of nice variety in the mix like this pastel OB. |
| In addition to brightly colored hybrids there are some very nice solid colored strains in the 3" assorted Import Peacocks like this Electric Blue Ahli. |
| A great example of what you can find in the large assorted Peacock mix. |
| fancy Mbuna always have some unique crosses in the mix including Pastels and OBs. |
| Hap Ruby Greens have incredible color already and they're averaging just over 2". Keep in mind that just like most Lake Vics these guys color up one at a time. Group is mostly male with a handful of females in the mix. |
