Hey folks,

Well I hope you are all as slammed as we are. I keep waiting to get that warm weather slow down but so far that hasn't really happened. Let's hope this continues right through Memorial day and maybe a bit into the dreaded summer months. I'm sure the Starfire Red® Gouramis have certainly had something to do with it. And in case anyone didn't see it on the pricelist we have the Starfire Red® Angels in at a large size as well this week.

Had another great week of incoming but we're running short on time due to how busy we are filling orders so here's a quick rundown. Finally got in the Peru order we've been waiting on for some time now but it was well worth it. Out of all the neat new stuff that came in I have to say my favorite are the Splash Tetras. These are few different species that come in under this somewhat generic moniker but these are the "Four Spot" (Pyrrhulina Spilota). Might end up splitting these into two sizes as about half of them are average size while there are some others that are absolute giants. My second favorite are the Festivums but that's probably because I'm old. These were in every Aquarium Store when I was growing up right in between the Keyholes and Egyptian Mouthbrooders. These days they pop up very infrequently so if you want a bit of fish nostalgia in your life then look no further.

Peru saw A ton in the way of Loricariids as well as some other bottom dwellers. The most interesting has to be the Flathead Spotted Cats. The are a rather unusual looking Pim type with a stretched out body donning the stereotypical silver coloration accented by some black spots. We also got in what was listed as Corydoras Blochi but these look to be a Julii/Trilineatus type. Either way they are the biggest Cry we have this week and are a must-have for sure. And not to be outdone we got in a couple of Plecos on that same shipment including Adonis and Flash.

Since we're short on time gonna jump right into Florida raised fish. It was one heck of a week for Barbs of all things. If it's Cherries you need it's Cherries we got. Not only do we have regulars but we have albino, veiltail and albino veiltail. Red Glass Barbs are back in the rotation and while the size is average the color is super bright. In Tetras we finally got Candy Canes for the first I believe since Christmas (or shortly thereafter). Size and color are great on these. And speaking of great size the Glowlights are some of the biggest I have ever seen. Serpaes look to be getting filled in on a more regular basis as are the Red Eyes.

I wanted to make some silly pun about this being a Victorious week of incoming in reference to how many Victorian Cichlids we got in but I've been up since 4:30 this morning and probably the only one who would find that funny. But we did indeed get quite a few really nice Vics in this week. Most impressive are the medium rock Kribs. These are in a tank at the bottom of one of the rack and yet they will still make your head turn. A close second are the Tomato Haps. Got those in both a medium and large size. Zebra Obliqs never disappoint. And got some really nice Ruby Greens in a regular size for the first time in ages.

Starfire Red® Angels are still shipping in good numbers. And don't be surprised if you get a couple the the patterned beauties in the mix.

Peru

Wild Festivum are in from Peru this week and so far they look amazing (or at least as amazing as a brown fish can look). Once a common staple in the hobby these guys come in sporadically these days. Once settled these are one of the most unique looking midsized SA Cichlids out there.

New Jurapari are much bigger and considerably nicer than the last batch we got in. Now that's not to say there was anything wrong with the last as as they were fine in every facet but these are some of the nicest we've seen in terms of size and shimmer ae concerned.

Wouldn't be a Peru shipment without some Sunset Apistos on board. Mixy as usual both in terms of size and gender. Pro tip: separate out the males and sell them at a higher price or sell them in pairs.

Banjo Cats are always a little bit pricier when they come out of Peru vs Colombia but they are almost always a lot nicer. Size is big and these usually hold up very well for us.

Flathead Spotted Cats (Platysilurus Mucosus) are in for the first time in years. This is a Pimelodella relative and is a very active swimmer and develops additional spots as it matures. Awesome, selodomly seen species that Catfish afficionados will go nuts over.

Green Spotted Ancistrus (Bushynose) came in from Peru again but this time at a significantly larger size. Not huge but definitely bigger than last time and still showing the bright green spots for which they're named.

Flash Plecos have some of the best gold/black contrast pinstriping of any Pleco available in the hobby.

Most of the Adonis Plecos are a bit bigger than this but I was in a hurry and he was the first one I could catch.

What came in as Corydoras Blochi looks to be more like a wild Julii/Trilineatus type. Either way this pic is an accurate depiction of what they are. They are big and beautiful. Others can fight over the nomenclature all they want lol.

Colombia

Got a few medium Silver Arowanas available this week. Bit bigger than the last few batches which means they're just that much closer to being the river monsters they eventually grow into lol.

Concolor Cories are a bit mixy in size but in a good way. The smallest ones are average while others are considerably larger than usual.

XL Royal Plecos are perfect for anyone looking for a center piece for a display tank.

Wild Bushynose are much bigger than the last couple of batches.

Fresh batch of Green Phantom Plecos got a bit more size to them this time around.

Speaking of high contrast, Colombian Zebra Plecos also saw a restocking this week. No Pleco selection is complete without these striped beauties.

Small Royals are back and what they lack in size they more than make up in cuteness.

Arcuatus aka Skunk Cories are one the most popular species when available therefore everyone should have these on their orders this week.

Pygmy Cories managed somehow to get another restock this week. A tad bit smaller than the last batch but they're called Pygmy for a reason.

Asia Imports

Green Scats came in earlier this week and look to be settling in quite well. Said this a thousand times but be sure to keep some salt on these guys in order for them to truly thrive.

Dwarf Peas are one of the all time best selling Puffers due to their small size and ease of care.

Everyone's favorite brackish goby is back this week and as usual the little BBs are about as cute as they can get.

Black Emperor Tetras came in nice and big with lots of deep purple.

3" Clown Knives are still in their "stripey" phase but they have nice fat bellies so should hold up just fine.

Royal Clown Knives are back but very limited. These are also in the "stripey" phase but will very soon be displaying multiple rows of fine spots.

New Gold Dojos are the biggest we've seen since probably last summer. You never know how these will come in as some times they're the size of Kuhlis. But not these. Great size with fantastic color. Perfect time to load up on them.

Got a restock on the Simiis Cories since the last ones sold out in about a day.

Ornate Bichirs continue to come in as one of the best looking "dinosaur Eels" in the hobby.

Cyprinids

3" Redtail Tinfoil Barbs came in exactly that if not a bit bigger, Great looking overall with very nice color in the fins.

Red Glass Barbs got a restock last night and they are about as bright as they can be. Sex ratio is about even with males being bright red while the females are primarily yellow. Makes for a great color mix.

Platinum Green Tiger Barbs are running at what could be a large size but same price as usual. Best deal on Barbs this week.

Albino Cherry Barbs are back after one heck of a hiatus. Not sure how long they'll be on the availability list so stock up now!

Same as the previous slide goes for the Albino Veiltail Cherry Barbs. And I'm guessing these are going to be even more limited so grab both while you can.

.Got in a new batch of Rainbow Dace over the weekend and you can tell they are in season as the males are just about in full color. About 50/50 male/female ratio in the mix but that's a good thing as the males will tend to hold onto their color longer with females present.

Tetras

Candy Cane Tetras are back for the first time in months and surprisingly they have both good size and color to them. Usually when something is out due to availability the first few batches tend to run small and colorless but that's not the case here.

Glowlights are absolute giants this week. This pic is not an exaggeration, this is about as big as they get. Color will really pop once they're over some substrate.

Cichlids

Regular Blue Acaras are back this week. If you read this with any consistency then you know what I'm about to say but I'm gonna say it anyway, I think this is a much nicer looking fish than it's EB counterpart. Though not nearly as gaudy these have a classic, natural beauty that gets severely overlooked these days.

Ranbow Cichlids came in rather small this time around but still showing off their bright red eyes and the rest of their brilliant color will follow shortly.

Curviceps are a bit bigger than the rainbows this week but somehow are already brilliant gold in color. Vrey bright at such a small size.

Large Green Terrors (about 4") got a bit of a restock over the weekend but they are pretty limited so order early if you want to snag a couple.

Old World Cichlids

Got a smattering of some Rock Kribs at a medium size this week. I'll let the pic do the rest of the talking.

Have Tomato haps in both a medium and large size this week. Both are very nice and both look to be mostly if not all male but the large are definitely worth the extra money.

One of the great things about Zebra Obliquedens is the color up almost immediately upon arrival. Just got these in this afternoon and they're already colored up like little Christmas trees.

Regular sized Hap Ruby Greens are already showing color at 1.5". These were fairly common once upon a time but certainly less so these days which is a shame since while they may not be as flashy as some of the other Victorian Haps they are very attractive as adults.

Large Peacocks got a restock this week and while there are plenty of fantastic OBs in the mix there's also some straight color morphs in there as well.

If you've never seen an adult version of Star Sapphires before do yourself a favor and Google a pic of them. You will then want to immediately order some of the juveniles we have available this week because they grow up to be one of the most incredible looking freshwater fish on the planet.

OB Ahli may not be the most exciting looking fish at a regular size but that changes dramatically once they grow up as evidenced in the next pic.

This is what an "average" adult OB Ahli looks like. So now you can see why the regular size previously featured is such a great value for those who are patient enough to grow these out.

Got in a handful of large Livingstoni (60251) that look to be all males and all color. These are one of the best bang for the buck fish this week but very limited quantities available.

For whatever reason we haven't had OB Red Zebras in quite sometime. The local strain we get is about as nice of one as there is out there. Already tangerine at about 1.75" which means they're just gonna be that much richer in color as adults.

Got Fancy mix Mbuna in all three sizes this week including large which is what's featured here. These are a bit smaller than the standard mix but you're going to get a much different variety of some very unique color variants.
