We are closed on Monday, check out today's new specials
Hey folks,
Before I forget please be sure to check the attached pricelist for next week's shipping schedule. Also we didn't have the updated specials ready to go when the list went out yesterday so be sure to check that out on the new list as well as the new additions for this week.
And while it is a shorter week coming up due to the holiday that doesn't mean we didn't get plenty of new fish. Oddly enough we're going to start with livebearers for what I think is the first time ever since I've been doing this. Pink Comet swords made a triumphant return after being absent literally for years. I used to buy these from here when I was still in retail and they are just as impressive as I remember them. One of the only Swordtail strains with twin bar markings. Color is very bright and unlike any other sword I have ever seen, so happy these are back. We also got in what the supplier is calling "Tiger" Swords. These were usually referred to as Marble Swords but nomenclature has a tendency of changing in this hobby/industry. Size is also really nice on these and while most of them are predominately black/white/green some also have a bit of orange to them. And not to be outdone by their sword sporting cousins, Platies got a new addition this week with the Neon Green Wag. We have had something similar to this in the past but this is from a different supplier so they look quite a bit different. Check out the pic down below and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Far East imports always bring us some fun goodies and this week did not disappoint. My favorite is actually a South America native but is being tank raised out of Indo and that would bring us to the Adolfoi Cories. These are one of the coolest and dare I say most colorful of all Corydoras species. While at a glance they resemble a Metae or some other "Bandit" type these have the distinction of having a bright orange cap atop the center of their head. And Speaking of orange we got in a new version of Red Paradise which look to be more peach/orange color than their name would suggest. Along that same color spectrum Choprai Danios got a restock this week and they are as nice as ever.
There was no short supply of scavengers coming in from Asia this week. Best looking award goes to the Sewellia Hillstream Loaches. We never get enough of these and they almost always sell out immediately so order accordingly. Redtail Botias also got a restock this week. If you have customer than need a nuisance snail solution then here's the answer. And unlike some species once these have eradicated said issue they will make themselves very useful as part of a clean up crew. It's almost impossible to overfeed a tank when these guys are in the mix. But if you're looking for something that clear out everything from the tank then look no further than the Redtail Cats. These river monsters will eat just about anything including fish almost as big as themselves lol.
Still have a really good selection of South American gems available. First and foremost are the XL Royal Plecos. These are huge show pieces that are perfect for anyone looking to add to a display tank. Pairing well with them would be the large Red Pikes. These are about as big and bold as it gets. But if it's nano size your interested in than I would suggest the Ruby Tetras. Even at such a diminutive size these practically stand out from across the room. And what better item to pair with those than one of the only commonly available nano catfish in the hobby, Pygmy Cories. Holding up great and should have plenty to go around. And while I already mentioned the Royals we still have plenty of other great looking Plecos this week including Zebra, Green Phantom, Adonis, Green Spot Ancistrus and wild Bushynose.
Hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend! Reach out to your rep if you have any questions.

| Starfire Red® Angels are still shipping in good numbers. And don't be surprised if you get a couple the the patterned beauties in the mix. |
| Starfire Red® Gourami |
| Sunburst Orange® Pristella |
| Electric Green® Pristella |
| Now that the Sunset Apistos have had a chance to settle in I was able to get a better pic of them. This is very representative the mix of color and size in the group. |
| Blochi Cories that came in last week still holding up great and are on of the best in class here on the farm. |
| Don't have a ton of Punctatus Cories left but what we do have are absolute monsters. |
| Most of the XL XL Royal Plecos are the spotted variety. As we head into the slow season it's always a good idea to have a coupe of show pieces to offer your customers and these definitely fall into that category. |
| Spotted Raphaels really stand out this week. Even though it's one of the more common varieties it's always best to stock up when they're in exceptional condition. |
| Now that they have had a chance to settle down the Flat Head Spotted Cats are really showing why that is such a well deserved name. But what's even more impressive, check out the whiskers and the tail extensions...they're twice the size of the body itself! |
| Ruby Tetras can be a little touchy upon arrival but this batch seems to be the exception to the rule. These have been holding up well since day one and continue to look great. I bring up the whole nano tank thing a lot because that's been a trend for quite some time now and these guts are a perfect fit for that. |
| Green Spotted Ancistrus (Bushynose) came in from Peru again but this time at a significantly larger size. Not huge but definitely bigger than last time and still showing the bright green spots for which they're named. |
| Not much I really I need to say about Colombian Zebra Plecos other than everyone should be stocking these every time they're available. The best value of the "fancy" Plecos. |
| Most of the Adonis Plecos are a bit bigger than this but I was in a hurry and he was the first one I could catch. |
| Large red Pikes are big, bright and extremely limited. And just like the XL Royal Plecos I mentioned earlier these are a perfect candidate as a show fish to have available for your customers. They can even be kept together in a big enough tank. |
| Wild Bushynose are much bigger than the last couple of batches. |
| Fresh batch of Green Phantom Plecos got a bit more size to them this time around. |
| Small Royals are back and what they lack in size they more than make up in cuteness. |
| Pygmy Cories managed somehow to get another restock this week. A tad bit smaller than the last batch but they're called Pygmy for a reason. |
| Tank raised Adolfoi Cories are back from Indo this week. If you're new to the emails this is one of my all time favorites, and for good reason. Not only do they have the very sharp contrast with the black masking and back stripe but the orange cap is the cherry on top. |
| Redtail Botias came in at a very nice size this week (about 2"+). If you haven't already heard this speech these are fantastic nuisance exterminators. These go well with tankmates equal in size along with more aggressive species like African Cichlids. They are highly adaptable and can handle most water conditions. |
| Red Frontosa are running much bigger than usual. These normally come in right at around 1" but this batch is closer to 50% larger than that. And even at the bigger size they are still one of the most economical of all Frontosa variants. |
| This week's Knight Gobies will pair well with the Green Scats everyone bought last week. Not a ton of variety to choose from when it comes to brackish dwelling species so those enthusiasts are always on the lookout for anything they can get their hands on. |
| Choprai aka Glowight Danio aren't technically what I would consider to be a true nano fish but they stay small enough where they will do well in smaller tanks which is definitely what's trending right now. |
| Got a new strain of Red Paradise in from Singapore this week and it is considerably different from the one raised here in Florida. These look to be more orange than red and they have more of blue crest to them as well. Quite honestly this is a more attractive version than the one we have been getting. |
| The Sewellia Hillstream Loaches that are on the list are almost always the Lineolata species. Sewellia is actually a genus and there are several different species contained therein but this is the most commonly imported due to the fact that it's one of the most attractive. |
| Blue Neon Gobies have been absent for a bit but are back this week and at a big enough size there their namesake color is starting to come through. |
| Longfin Danios are next to impossible to get a decent pic of so I cheated and used one of Bob's (our resident photographers) pics this week. But this is a photo of what we have available. And yes not only do we have the LF Leopards (pictured here) in the mix but also as their own item number if you're not looking for an assortment. |
| Regular Bosemani Rainbows have started trickling in as far east imports for the moment as the Florida raised ones haven't been available. This pic is very representative of the group currently in stock. |
| Medium Yellow Rainbows are coming in huge and gorgeous. These and the medium Turquoise are your best bets for bigger sized Rainbows this week. |
| Neon Green Wag Platies aren't exactly a "new" strain but certainly one we have not had in a long time. Plus this version looks a bit different from the last one we had and that's a good thing. These are very vibrant. |
| Must be the time of year because Kohaku Koi Swords keep coming in about as big as I've seen. As usual way more females than males but it really doesn't matter with this variant since the color is so bold and bright no one really pays that much attention to the tail. |
| Pink Comet Swords are back! I'm not sure if we've had these in the time I've been here but I certainly remember buying them from here every time they were on the availability list. These are unlike just about any other sword out there. I'm not even sure what to call this color. Kinda peachy pinkish I guess. Very unique with a twin bar tail to boot. Super excited to see these again. Oh and size is great by the way. |
| Tiger Swords (formerly known as Marble) are in for the first time in I really don't know how long. I'm not even sure if we've had these in the time that I've been here or if I'm just remembering these from when I used to buy them from here. Either way just like the Pink Comets these are very different from just about anything else out on the market right now. |
| Buenos Aires so big they look more like a tuna than a Tetra. |
| Orange Von Rios may not be the biggest Tetra on the far this week but they certainly are one of the brightest. Admittedly I typically prefer the standards to these but that isn't the case this week. These are practically glowing in the tanks right now. |
| Glowlights are absolute giants this week. This pic is not an exaggeration, this is about as big as they get. Color will really pop once they're over some substrate. |
| Just like the Glowlights Diamonds are also running big this week. Bit more impressive with these since they have the shimmer and finnage to really show off. |
| Got Heckelii in regular (approx. 2") and 3" this week and we are expecting some larger ones later today. So if you're looking for something on the bigger side reach out to your rep for availability. |
| Although they are considerably more aggressive than their afore mentioned cousins Geo Brasiliensis are equally colorful and we have limited numbers available in both 4"& 5" sizes. |
| Got Green Terrors in at 4" & 5" currently and hoping to have some smaller ones in by the weekend. Without a doubt my favorite of the more common Southies. |
| The day I get tired of looking at these is the day I will stop featuring Red Spot Gold Severums in the email. So in other words, never lol. |
| One could easily argue that the Medium Red Nyererei are dollar for dollar THE best looking freshwater fish there is. And this one in the pic isn't even in full color yet. |
| I feature the medium mix male Peacocks just about every week because they are awesome just about every week. Pulled this near full color Sunshine out of the mix this morning. Not gonna get a much better deal than that. |
| I'll mention these ever time we get them because it just isn't that often. Star Saphire Phenos are one of the most unique looking Malawi "Haps" due to their "spangling they develop as they mature. Full transparency that takes years so people are investing in the long game when they buy these. Good news is they start showing brilliant blue very early. This guy is only1.5" and already gorgeous. |
| Regular sized Hap Ruby Greens are already showing color at 1.5". These were fairly common once upon a time but certainly less so these days which is a shame since while they may not be as flashy as some of the other Victorian Haps they are very attractive as adults. |
| Large Peacocks got a restock this week and while there are plenty of fantastic OBs in the mix there's also some straight color morphs in there as well. |
| Got Fancy mix Mbuna in all three sizes this week including large which is what's featured here. These are a bit smaller than the standard mix but you're going to get a much different variety of some very unique color variants. |
| For whatever reason we haven't had OB Red Zebras in quite sometime. The local strain we get is about as nice of one as there is out there. Already tangerine at about 1.75" which means they're just gonna be that much richer in color as adults. |
