GloFish® Starfire Red® Angels available in limited quantities
Hey folks,
hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. and for those of you who weren't impacted by the weather this past weekend I hope you had a very profitable Black Friday weekend and now need lots of fish. But before we get into all of the new and exciting highlights for the week as you may have noticed from the opening pic Starfire Red® Angels are back in stock this week! Now they are in very limited numbers so please get with your rep asap if you want any. This is going to be first come first serve and we will do our best to get some out to as many of you as possible. Their availability is going to be on a week to week basis so there's no telling how many we will have ahead of time but as production moves forward we hope to see more consistent numbers in the coming months. And on the same note we still have MoonRise Pink® Cories to pair with these as well. That would make for one hell of an awesome display!
Now on to all things not GloFish® related. Even with bad weather and a short week due to the holiday we still got in plenty of great items to restock your tanks with. Starting with Colombia I somehow managed to leave off Gulper Cats in the last email. These came in at a very nice size and are holding up great. Still have a handful of Peacock Bass around 6-7" but these are very limited and will definitely be gone after the weekend. Got some fantastic Plecos from the last shipment including one of my favorites the Spotted Sailfin. This is a Hypostomus species so they do grow to a larger size but are still manageable as adults. We also got in some more Colombian Zebras and wild Bushynose. I know these will sell out in a hurry but wanted to mention them so no one misses out. And last but definitely not least we have one of the better selections of wild Cories than we've had in quite a while. Melini, Skunk and Punctatus are all great size and look absolutely perfect.
Lots of fun stuff from Asia this week but I have to say my favorite items has to be the Clouded Archers. People often avoid Archer species due to their brackish habitat requirements but these hail from true freshwater environments thus making them much easier to accommodate. But speaking of species that are native to brackish waters we got restocks on Spotted Puffers and Knight Gobies. With so few brackish options out there these are must haves for anyone's list. On the opposite end of the spectrum we still have the new Redfin Ricefish on hand. These took a minute to get put onto the list as these are brand new to us as well as being relatively new to the hobby. As people are always on the lookout for different varieties of nano fish this one in a no-brainer. And while we are the subject of nano species we also are expecting Galaxy Rasboras in later today, check with your rep for availability.
As usual we have plenty of great Florida fish and this week we have a couple of new items. Both are Mbuna types an both are pastel variants of their respective species, Labeotropheus Fulleborni and Pseoudtropheus Saulosi. Each variety is very unique in appearance compared to its natural counterpart. For not new but much needed restocks we got in a ton of Central/South American favorites. I'll start with the old fashioned version of the Blue Acara. Since its inception the Electric Blue variant has pretty much taken over in popularity but I have to say I prefer the original. Something about its subtle beauty I find more attractive. Plus they're nowhere near as common as they used to be so younger hobbyists will see them as something "new". For items that I can guarantee won't make it through the weekend we got in large Green Terrors, 5" Heckelii, 7" Red Devils and large Electric Blue Acaras. An last but definitely not least we got in medium German Blue Rams. If you're not stocking these you don't know what you're missing. They're awesome!
Reach out to your rep if you have any questions.

| GloFish® Moonrise Pink® Cories |
| For whatever reason I managed to leave the Gulper Cats out of the last couple of emails. Not sure how as these guys really do standout. One third mouth, two thirds body. And if you haven't tried these before just know that they do best one per tank. They will try to eat almost anything you put with them even if it's close to their own body mass. |
| Got in a large size of what we're calling a Striped Pike these are also known as the Gray Sausage Pike. Whatever you decide to call it this Lugubria species is similar to Freckled Pikes and grows to be rather large and aggressive as adults. No matter the name Pikes always sell very well with die hard hobbyists always on the look out for something different. |
| No Colombia shipment would be complete without Peacock Bass. Size is great and they'll be displaying their bands and brightly colored fins in no time. These really don't need to be hyped up as they are always in limited supply and high demand. |
| Red Phantom Tetras might be one of the most suitable of it's family for nano tanks. Unlike most other species in this genus these stay borderline tiny but turn ruby red once they mature. |
| Green Neons are back in from Colombia this week. Mention this every time but it bears repeating these sell based on name alone. This isn't an either/or situation. You should still stock the larger Florida raised Neons in addition to these. Many people buy both. |
| Melini Cories are one of the "Bandit" types named after their black masking. Like most Colombia Cories these are always in super high demand and probably won't make it much past the weekend. |
| Not much more to say other than Arcuatus (Skunk) Cories are huge and about as sturdy as they get. No better time to buy than now. |
| Certainly not new but can never go wrong with Punctatus Cories. Even though these are a staple item around here that doesn't mean you shouldn't grab as many as you can. These are one of the sturdiest of the import Cories. |
| Didn't realize how long it's been since we've had Colombian Zebra Plecos till I started writing this but it's been a hot minute as the kids say. Goes without saying as these have been sorely missed. These will probably be gone before I finish typing this but try ordering them anyway, it's worth a shot. |
| .At a glance this might look like a common Pleco but these are actually Hypostomus sp. These are more like a Sailfin than a standard and therefore much nicer as adults. In addition to an exaggerated dorsal fin these display an almost symmetrical spotted pattern along the body. These spots develop a blueish hue to them as they mature. |
| Large Bushynose came in from Colombia this week. Once settled in this is one of the best maintenance species you can offer your customers. They stay WAY smaller than common Plecos and do a much better job of keeping algae under control. |
| Peru Blue Tetras look to be getting deeper and deeper in color every day. These are nearly full grown and absolutely dwarf their far east raised counterparts. |
| Speaking of large the large Peru Bleeding Heart Tetras are shaping up to be some of the nicest I've seen. They're starting to develop a nice rich pink coloration throughout the body with blood red "hearts" really shining though. |
| The Julii Cories that came in the last Peru shipment are probably twenty percent bigger than the typical tank raised variety and equally if not nicer in overall appearance. |
| Lima Shovelnose came in huge and continue to grow. These are probable the biggest we've had come through here but even with that being said these are still much more manageable as adults than the more commonly available Tigers. |
| Spotted Puffers are back in stock this week. No sales pitch required here. They sell really fast so you should buy some. |
| Clouded Archers are back and just in time for horrible weather season. I mean that in a good way in that the the more people have to stay inside the more time they have to focus on their hobby and therefore buy more expensive fish as compared to summertime. |
| And speaking of Parrots, this week's Blue Tigers are more than twice the size of the last batch . That's because these are homegrown right here at the farm. The smaller ones that we get tend to be far east imports when we run out so this is a great time to pick some up. |
| Knight Gobies came in big once again. One of the more impressive o the commonly available gobies these certainly look their best when provided with brackish conditions and plenty of frozen foods. |
| Pic really doesn't do them justice but the new Redfin Daisy Rice fish we got in a couple weeks ago are absolutely stunning. Look like miniature Neon Dwarf Rainbows. Bright blue eyes with blood red fins as the name would suggest. There are actually collectors for anything in this genus and the are always looking for something new. |
| Got in more 3" Clown Knives over the weekend. small and feasting on guppies for now these soon to be giants will be up in size and hunting down anything they can fit in their mouths in no time. |
| Got a neat little surprise mixed in with the Zebra Loaches. Botia Dario aka Dario Loach. A close relative of the Zebra these guys are similar in just about every way except for their striping. These have solid black bars over a bright gold background making them really standout. I'm hoping to get these as a stand alone species in the near future but in the meantime you'll just have to settle on getting them in the mix when you order the Zebra Loaches. It's about a 50/50 split so you're almost sure to get some in the group. |
| Redtail Botias got a healthy restock this week and they came in nice and fat. These are a great alternative to Clown Loaches for anyone looking for something that doesn't get quite as large but still does an excellent job at controlling nuisance snail outbreaks. |
| Marble Moray Eels are not only back tis week but in greater numbers than we've probably ever had before. So much so that for the first time since I've been here we even have enough to put them on special. Not sure when the next time that'll happen so don't miss out on these. |
| Still got a handful of 3-4" Redtail Cats available. These are a MUCH better value than the standard 2" that typically come in. These are much sturdier and don't require a school of feeders on them at all times. They also sell a lot faster given their reputation for holding up so well. |
| Got a restock on medium German Blue Rams during the break so if any of you got scratched on them on your last order we should have enough to fill this week. This are much bigger than the regulars and well worth the extra money. |
| Speaking of Rams this week's Bolivians are looking much nicer than usual. This is always a nice looking species but this group really stands out as they're gold coloration looks to be more saturated than what typically comes in. |
| If you missed it in the last couple of emails large assorted Gouramis are back in with pretty regular availability, or at least for the time being. These are MUCH bigger than any of the standard sizes and a fantastic value. Your customers are always looking for bigger fish and we have been getting requests for these for as long as I can remember so stock up while they're here and don't be afraid to be aggressive with the margins, people will pay it. |
| Blue paradise are running a bit small but still have good color and pretty nice finnage. A must have for any labyrinth section. |
| Green Sailfin Mollies are back for the first time in what feels like an eternity. May not be new or exotic but it is a much decried staple that everyone should be stocking when available. |
| Pineapples are one of he best looking swords this week in terms of size and color. This changes on a week to week basis so always look to this email to see what's recommended. We're happy to be your personal shopper. |
| Green Swords are also very nice this week but full transparency this batch looks to be an aquarium strain versus the wild type that we've been seeing lately. That doesn't take anything away from them since it is still a very attractive variant and the average person couldn't care less so long as it looks pretty. |
| Redtail Blue Variatus are a new(ish) color morph that we haven't here before. They've been on the market sporadically but we're hoping this is one we'll be able to offer with some frequency. Pic doesn't do it justice as these guys have sky blue bodies with bright red tails. |
| The large assorted Rainbows have some absolute giants in the mix this week. This one wouldn't even fit in my hand. These are for sure show worthy display specimens. |
| At first one might think these are Red Rainbow that we commonly feature but these are actually the normal phase of the Millenia Rainbow. These are surprisingly less common than their albino counterparts and unlike the more common Reds the females on this species is actually quite attractive. |
| Peacock Gudgeons are one of those oddball is that even though they've been around for a long time there are still plenty of people who have never seen them before. If you have a website where you post pics of your incoming/featured items definitely throw these on there. The name is a bit off-putting for those who are unfamiliar wit the species but one look at them and they are going to want some. |
| 2" Bushynose are back in stock this week. I cannot emphasize this enough but these are the best value Pleco we offer. Very nice size, sturdy, and your customers will appreciate them because they are one of the best maintenance fish out there. |
| Mixed Sex Congos are not only considerably bigger than the male onlys but they are one the biggest, nicest overall Tetras here on the farm. Color is fantastic and the males in the group already have their fin extensions. |
| Pastel/Gold Neon Tetras are probably the nicest manmade variant of this species. Super bright pink overall appearance to them makes them standout from across the room. They are also running oversize this week as well. |
| Think I made it nearly two weeks without putting up a pic of the Black Phantoms but I couldn't hold off any longer. One day the size is gonna drop on these but that's not today so don't wait around till it does. |
| Rosy Tetras are back for the first time in a couple of months. Often referred to as a "poor man's Candy Cane Tetra" these little guys not only are similar in appearance but actually have better contrast in the fins making them an excellent addition to any Tetra section. |
| Albino Glo-Lites are back this week and better the ever. They usually take some time to settle in and color up but these have a gorgeous neon red stripe going all way alongside the body. |
| New Blue Kerris are a bit bigger than the last couple of batches with really nice color. Not a lot of purple freshwater fish out there (no idea why they call them Blue Kerris instead of Purple Emperors, much better name) so this is one you should always have in you Tetra offering. |
| Lemons are back and while the size isn't amazing the color is pretty good on them overall. This i the time of year where you want as much variety as possible to offer your customers so you definitely need these. |
| Medium Silver Dollars are typically a good value on any given week more so now that they are on special this week. |
| Large (5") Green Terrors are available this week but in fairly limited numbers. I'm always excited when I have to something fun and interesting to write about but I really don't need to say much about these guys, these always sell out immediately every time we get them in. |
| Deppi are back this week and at bit larger size. Still on the list as regular these guys are showing considerably more color than the last batch. This is a fairly uncommon Central American that avid collectors are always on the hunt for. |
| Managuense aka Jaguar Cichlids got another restock over the weekend. And while they continue to run on the small side they also continue to sell out each and every week. These should be a staple in you Cichlid offerings just lust like Oscars and Dempseys. These just happen to be to much nicer looking fish as adults. |
| Red Terrors are back after a brief absence. For those of you who don't red the email regularly this is about the purest strain there is on the market. And to prove that I've provided a pic of the adults down below. I'll let it peak for itself. |
| Adults of the Red Terrors featured in the previous slide. Female on the left, male on the right. |
| Rotkeil Severums are in for the first time in for the first time in over a year. For anyone not familiar with this variant is it arguably the most sought after of the wild types. This re captive raised but are descendants from pure bloodlines. Google a pic of what they look like as adults and you'll see why these will be gone in less than a week. |
| Got in a severely limited number of 5" Heckelii in today. These will go as soon as this gets sent out so get n line early. I argue there are few fish that make for a better display . |
| Also in very limited numbers are the 7" Red Devils. It always amazes me how well these sell the bigger they are despite how deserving they are of their name. |
| Large Electric Blue Acaras are back this week and just like the previous two entries these will most likely be gone before I'm done typing this. But just in case they aren't put your order in early to try score a couple. |
| Perhaps not as flashy as its aquarium strain counterpart there is still something to be said about the more simplistic color palate of the original Blue Acara. I may be in the minority on this but I fid this to be the more attractive of the two strains. |
| Fredrichstahli aka Yellow Jackets are back this week. Just like most Parachromis species these grow up to be very territorial. But also like most Parachromis species they grow to be spectacular looking adults. |
| Medium Mix Male Peacocks got refreshed last niht from a different vendor than the last batch and these have a lot of unique hybrids including this tangerine ob specimen. Lotta color and pop for not a lotta money and since these are Florida raised they are all natural and will not only retain their color but will only get better with time. |
| Also in the Medium Mix Male Peacocks are some solid color variants including this Regal looking individual. |
| One of the the brightest and best values this week are the Yellow Albino Swallowtail Peacocks. As the name name would suggest these have solid lemon yellow coloration throughout the body and are well oversize as they are marked as "regular" on the price list. |
| Hap Compressiceps got a restock over the weekend and while there are a few smaller specimens in the group most are closer in size to the larger individual in the pic. A classic African Cichlid staple. |
| Red Top Hongi are back and not only are they a bit oversize, the color is about as good as it gets for just about any Mbuna. |
| Got in a new variant on a classic Mbuna this week, Pastel Marmalde Cat aka Labeotropheus Fulleborni. While it has one of the most confusing common names of any fish on the market these have always been a good seller despite its nomenclature. These have a very distinct pearlescence look to them and are appearing on the market for the first time! |
| Got in a very limited number of medium Fancy Mix Mbuna this week. They range from OB hybrids to pure strains like this Red Head Mac. Very different variety in there compared to the standard medium mix. |
| In addition to the mediums we also got in quite of few of the regular size Fancy Mix Mbuna. Very similar assortment at a very reasonable price point. |
| Msobo Deeps are another one of those highly underrated Mbuna that I just don't understand. Males grow up to have one of the best purplish blue/black mottled colorations of any fish out there and the females are bright yellow. This is a must have for any Cichlid selection. |
| Leopard 2-2.5" |
| Cobalt 2-2.5" |
| Pigeon Blood 2-2.5" |
| Blue Diamond Shrimp |
| Fancy Mix Shrimp |
| A hyper focused pic of the super popular Thai Micro Crab. I've mentioned these a number of times but it's still worth pointing out how popular these are with nano tank enthusiasts. If you're not carrying these you're missing out. |
| This is what the Thai Micro Crabs look like without the use of a telephoto lens. And even though the essentially look like a glorified tick hobbyists go crazy over these. |
