4" Red Devils are absolute show stoppers this week.
    Hey folks,
well thank goodness for nicer weather this week as it allowed us to bring in more great stuff. I know the Midwest is getting hit with another cold front including ice and snow but hopefully it won't be so bad as to impact shipping. As for incoming this week like I said there's some great stuff out there. Got shipments in from Thailand, Singapore, Indo, Colombia and some really nice Florida raised fish.

We'll start with Colombia. Availability has been a little on the lean side lately but we were able to get aome restocks on some staples including Snowball, Clown and Plecos, both Striped And Spotted Raphael Cats, Bumble Bee Cats, Farlowellas and of course the ever popular Green Neons. But what I'm most escited for have to be the Habrosus Cories. Haven't had these in forever. It's a close relative of the pygmy cory but a little different in appearance as you'll see from the pic below. Also got in some Gold/Green Cories which have also been absent for quite some time. But what I think most of you will be most excited for are the small Peacock bass. Haven't had these at this size in over a year. Good news is looks like we got enough to go around but I wouldn't hesitate as these always sell out very quickly.

Lots of new stuff from the far east including my absolute favorite dwarf Gourami type, Samurais. These are a Chocolate relative but with a much nicer pattern and color palate. This particular batch came in looking great and hopefully that continues to be the case. But the most exciting additions this week have to be the Black Widow and the Red Frontosas. These are both captive strains and are super popular amongst hobbyists. They carry a little heavier price tag but are well worth it. On the opposite end of the spectrum we got restocked on Balloon Kissing Gouramis. Say what you want about balloon type fish but if you carry Oranda or Ryukin or any fantail type goldfish then there's no reason not to carry these. They always sell well even if they are an abomination. But something I think everyone will appreciate are the two new(ish) type of Bettas that came in late last week, Nemo Plakat and Gold Platinum Halfmoon. Both are sure to be huge sellers without a huge price tag.

And Last but definitely not least are the Florida raised cichlids we got in this week. Too much to list here but plenty of pics down below. We got in some more insanely rare Central Americans from a nearby source that has been providing us with gems like this for years. The last batch we got from him got picked clean in just a few days. I'm sure this batch will be no exception. We also got in some really unique looking hybrid African Cichlids. People can say what they want about crosses but at the end of the day if you like selling colorful fish and making money in the process then look no further. These guys always sell out on a hurry.

Small Peacock Bass are here! Be sure to keep a cloud of feeder guppies on these guys. At this size their metabolism is running very high and they can skinny out real quick if you're not careful.
New batch of Silver Hatchets came in super sturdy and are looking great so far.
Exodons (3273) came in pretty solid size this week. While they don't exactly play well with others they do make for an excellent species only display.
New Bumble Bee cats came in at a great selling size.
Colombian Snowballs are probably the nicest of the "affordable" Plecos.
Royal Farlowellas back in stock and came in very clean.
Aagassizi Cories are one of the best value Cories when it comes to size and appearance.
Gold/Green Cories are back for the first time in ages. They huge and bright. Don't miss out on these.
Habrosus Cories are a dwarf species that actually act like a Cory as opposed to Pygmy Cories that act more like a tetra.
    Asia Imports
Black Widow Frontosa are in from Indo for the first time over a year. This is a really neat strain that has an aberrant pattern as opposed to the typical striping that you see on all other Frontosa variants.
Red Frontosa are also back in stock for the first time in ages. This morph does have the normal stiped pattern but develops a reddish hue over the body. Very different compared to the typical hints of blue typically seen in most Frontosa.
Balloon Kissing Gouramis are back! This is one of the most balloony type mutastions out there. The completely transparent tails with incredibly short bodies make them look like little floating heads.
Samurai Gourami tend to be one of the more seasonal species as these have not been available in months. This a relative of the chocolate Gourami but this species in much more tolerant of hard water conditions. Came in great and look to be holding up really well so far.
Cherry Barbs continue to come in as far east imports since Florida raised have been in very short supply lately. Size is a little small but the color is really nice with a good male/female ratio.
Got in Nemo Plakat Bettas late last week. We've had these in the past but these are from a different supplier and came in with more red/orange coloration and at a lower price point.
Gold Platinum Bettas are in for the first time. While this isn't necessarily a new strain it's one I've never seen come through here and has great contrast between the body and the fins. About as gold as it gets.
Siamese Bumble bee cats are back in stock this week. These are a much larger version of bumblebee cat compared to the normal South American imports but they still stay very manageable.
    More Far East Gems
New batch of Spotted Puffers arrived this week and looking really good so far. Definitely on the small side but that just makes them all the cuter.
Figure 8 Puffers have been here for a couple weeks now and look fantastic. Bright green coloration with fat bellies full of blood worms. These are as nice as they get.
Mentioned these last week but managed to get a better pic of the Knight Gobies(4078). Came in a little shaky but they're looking really good now and ready to ship.
Assorted Fancy Shrimp came in with a really nice mix of colors this week.

Black Phantom Tetras got a restock this week and the size is fantastic. Almost as big as Florida raised in summertime.
All male Pineapple Swords are running a bit small but are probably the brightest one here this week.
Red Honey Gouramis are probably the nicest I've ever seen come through here. Size is good but the color is outstanding. About as bright red as it gets.
Longfin Rosy Barbs are back after a brief hiatus. These are mixed sex but it's a pretty good male/female ratio and both have really nice exaggerated fins.
Deepwater Creek Rainbows are back to being huge and stunning. This should be the #1 selling rainbow species hands down but unfortunately it has a very unmarketable name. Sell it as Firetail Rainbow. That's more eye catching.
Large Albino Cories are running at a very nice size and for what ever reason have been more readily available than the regulars.
New batch of Orange Von Rio Tetras are the brightest we've seen in a bit. This is unusual for this time of year as they usually tend to be a little washed out in the winter months.
Medium Mixed Veil Angel are particularly nice this week. Not just in size but some unique color variants in there as well. This one particular is very coppery in color, almost like an Altum.
     Central/South American Cichlids
Latest batch of Flowerhorns can in with a great mix of color morphs. I always get asked what type the regular size is and it's always a non specific assortment. But you can always find some gems in there like this guy.
3" Red Devils are also available this week. Although not quite as impressive as the 4" yet still a nice variety of pieds and solid oranges in the mix.
Red Spot Turquoise Severums are available i small quantites this week. While they may not be as gaudy as the Red Spotted Golds these still grow up to be a very impressive fish.
Red Spotted Rainbow Severums are also available in small quantities this week. I really want to take a couple of these home and grow them up for a bit because if they're showing this much color at this size they are definitely going to be absolute stunners as adults.
4" Cubans are back in very limited number. One of my absolute favorite "tank busters". The contrasting patterns on these guys is incredible once they mature. Word of advice however, only keep one per tank at this size. They're already starting to show their aggressive adult tendencies.
Red Head Tapajos are back after being gone for a minute. Not much color yet but these are always super popular and sell on name alone.
Cribroheros rostratus. These come from Nicaragua and Costa Rica. They get fairly aggressive on one another when they hit sexual maturity so a big tank is suggested. Think of these as Central American Geophagus. Our bath is fairly mixed in size.
Paraneetroplus bulleri. A close cousin of the gibbiceps we had a few weeks ago, these a riverine scrapers who prefer fast flowing/cooler water.  A stunning fish at maturity.
Herichthys steindachneri. Another rare gem from Mexico which is highly endangered in the wild.

    Awesome Africans
Just got in a fresh batch of all male Florida raised Peacocks last night. These are all hybrids but they're also all fantastic. Super bright mix of colors and a great value. Anyone just looking to add an instant splash of color to their tank will jump all over these. Last batch we got in sold out in two days.
Same as above, just wanted to show the mix that is in this assortment. Can definitely see there's some type of Hap in the mix but still makes for a gorgeous fish even if it isn't a pure strain.
Large Assorted Haps are also back in stock but in very limited numbers so order early if you want any. FYI they're not all OBs, this was just a random pull to illustrate the diversity in the mix.
Redstratus Haps are another specialty hybrid that we get from one our local vendors. Based off of Fossorochromis Rostratus these guys can be highly variable in appearance but fantastic looking nonetheless.
Another example of the Redstratus Hap. Maybe this one should be called Blue Stratus instead lol.
Sam vendor brought us what he's calling a Super Red Dino Hap. I believe these are based off of Dimidiochromis Strigatus.  most of these should turn into a deep tangerine color as they mature much like the Red Dovii.
Another example of the above hybrid showing the variation in this morph.
Medium Hap Moorii are running a bit over size again. A classic staple that everyone should have.
Large Assorted Mbuna are always a great choice if you have some bigger tanks to fill on a budget. Great mix in there including this Marmalade Cat.
